Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking two or three undergraduates for the Federal Work Study job of Office Assistant for the 2026/27 academic year. Duties include greeting people, providing admin support, assisting with events, and maintaining spaces and supplies on campus.

This is an in-person role in the Ritenour Building with hours Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., up to ten hours weekly, and a starting wage of $12.00 per hour; performance may be reviewed annually.

Qualifications

  • Penn State student with eligible Federal Work Study award.
  • Preference for current Eberly College of Science undergraduates.
  • In-person position in the Ritenour Building.
  • Hours Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., up to ten hours per week.
  • Starting hourly rate is $12.00.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide general administrative support and assist staff as needed.
  • Assist with events, caterers, setup and cleanup.
  • Assist with filing, restocking supplies, and tidying areas.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming packages.
  • Monitor shared spaces to keep them welcoming and stocked.
  • Monitor the student supply closet and inform staff of low products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Office of Undergraduate Students is seeking two or three current undergraduate students for the Federal Work Study job of Office Assistant for the academic year of 2026/27.

Job duties include:
  • Greet and assist: students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Provide general administrative support and assist staff as needed for the Office of Undergraduate Students and the offices associated with it
  • Assist with events - meeting caterers, setting up and cleaning up event.
  • Assist with filing, restocking supplies, setting up meeting spaces, and tidying shared areas.
  • Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming packages
  • Monitor shared spaces to keep them student-friendly and welcoming, ensure student supply closet and collaboration rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • Monitor the student supply closet: taking inventory, checking students out, and informing staff of low products
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Penn State Student with an eligible Federal Work Study award

  • Hours can vary up to ten hours per week
  • The starting hourly rate for this job is $12.00

The starting hourly rate for this job is $12.00.Federal Work Study job performance is evaluated either annually or through ongoing mentorship. Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a joband perform related duties eitheron campus, orremotely, if possibleand at the discretion of the employer.
