Job summary

  • Sort and distribute mail, prepare daily mail slips for outgoing mail, receive and send packages.
  • Provide assistance to administrative team members in the preparation, processing, and submission of financial forms (e.g., travel reimbursements, purchasing card reconciliations, etc.).

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job is available. The Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center (PRC) in the College of Health and Human Development seeks to hire a part-time work study for the 26-27 academic year to assist with administrative duties.

  • Serve as receptionist as needed for the PRC main office; greet visitors and provide information, answer main phone line, provide assistance or redirect as appropriate.
  • Support and coordinate weekly seminars; serve as lead contact for conference room scheduling and technology support, set up equipment for meetings and presentations, troubleshoot issues and/or arrange for support, order meals and refreshments when needed.
  • Sort and distribute mail, prepare daily mail slips for outgoing mail, receive and send packages.

Federal Work Study job performance is evaluated either annually or through ongoing mentorship. Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer.
