Job summary

East Texas A&M University’s Residential Living and Learning department seeks a Marketing Assistant (Work Study) to craft content, manage social media, and produce promotional materials that engage students and promote housing events. You will work with staff to align communications with the department's mission and values and help boost awareness of resources and activities.

The role focuses on content creation, event promotion, and community engagement, with a semester-by-semester employment

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a student at ETAMU (undergraduate or graduate).
• Successful completion of the application and interview process as part of the selection.
• Demonstrated positive conduct with Residential Living and Learning (RLL) and ETAMU.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.25 for undergraduate students or 3.0 for graduate students.
• Must have a valid Work Study Permit at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and post content across RLL social media channels to engage students and promote housing events and deadlines.
• Event Promotion: Assist with marketing and promotion of events, including flyers, graphics, and email templates to drive attendance.
• Content Creation: Design infographics, posters, digital ads, and video clips highlighting housing resources and community life.
• Email Campaign Support: Draft and edit emails to students, parents, and staff.
• Photo/Video Coverage: Capture photos and videos at events and around residential communities for future materials.
• Data Collection and Reporting: Gather engagement metrics and create basic reports on reach and feedback.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure materials follow university brand guidelines across platforms.
• Student Engagement Initiatives: Support contests, surveys, and Q&A sessions on social media.
• Administrative Support: Manage promotional materials inventory and batch inquiries.
