Job summary

Sul Ross State University is seeking eight student workers for the Athletic Department in Alpine. Positions are part-time, on-campus roles requiring work-study involvement and assistance with game-day operations.

Pay starts at $9.50 per hour, up to 15 hours per week. Responsibilities include ticketing, clock operation, concessions, equipment handling, laundry, video support, and general event coordination under supervision.

A desired interest to work in sports industry is appreciated, but not necessary, however the successful candidate will be highly motivated to represent Sul Ross Athletics. Willingness to perform required manual labor which may include lifting, carrying, long periods of standing and walking, and other duties as assigned. Candidates should be aware of of the urgency of certain projects and the importance that their deadlines are met. Candidates should be comfortable in large crowds, and able to communicate effectively with the public and follow through with minimal direction.

Primary Responsibilities

Successful candidates will work in collaboration with other student assistants, Office Staff and under the direction of Game Administrator/Assistant Athletics Director and Athletics Director. Students will be tasked with executing game day set-up, taking up tickets, working game clock, keeping score, setting up and working concession stands, handling money, other game day responsibilities at the direction of the game operations department supervisor, responsible for sports equipment, laundry for sports uniforms, video, training with head trainer, communications for the athletic department, athletic grounds keeping, and other duties assigned.
