Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Work Site Support Specialist to provide a work-based learning experience in a competitive, integrated setting for eligible VR clients who are enrolled in high school. The Work Site Support Specialist will facilitate on-site support, lead classroom discussions, and utilize the ODEP soft skills curriculum to develop employability skills in a real work environment. The specialist will be responsible for completing necessary plans, reports, and paperwork as assigned, ensuring a successful experience for both students and employers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work-Based Learning Coordination: Coordinate students’ work-based learning experiences within the Pre-Employment Training - Work Experience Program with VR.
- On-Site Support: Provide support for students working up to 16 hours per week at identified worksites, ensuring a smooth integration into the work environment.
- Soft Skills Training: Incorporate four hours of soft skills training each week, reviewing on-site experiences with students during each work shift.
- Mediator Role: Serve as a mediator between students, co-workers, and supervisors to ensure effective communication and integration.
- Documentation: Prepare plans, reports, and other paperwork, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Student Intake & Assessment: Gather information about each student’s strengths, skills, interests, and needs through meetings with students, families, VR counselors, and school personnel.
- New Hire Paperwork & Coordination: Coordinate completion of new hire paperwork, orientation, and weekly timesheets.
- Student Transportation: Provide transportation to and from the worksite as needed.
- Reporting & Communication: Report on worksite outcomes and provide progress/activity updates to Leadership and referral sources.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to follow instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with co-workers, students, referral sources, and the business community.
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to access and operate a vehicle safely.
- Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
- Effective public speaking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of confidentiality policies, professional ethics, and codes of conduct.

- Competence with computers and data entry.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in employment services, job coaching, business, sales, human resources, or human services preferred.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of background checks (criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, fingerprint).
- Completion of New Hire Orientation and required training, including Relias courses, at start and annually.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens, maintained throughout employment.
