Job summary

Families Forward, a member of The Fedcap Group, is seeking an Education and Training Instructor in Ellsworth, ME to deliver Power of Possible and Life Skills workshops that prepare participants for work, training, and long-term career success.

The Instructor uses structured, outcome‑driven methods to move learners from foundational concepts to practical application, guiding engagement and accountability throughout sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, workforce development, or related field.
• Two years’ experience in adult education, workshop facilitation, or workforce development coaching.
• Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Power of Possible (POP) and Life Skills workshops as scheduled, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and adherence to curriculum standards.
• Conduct Single Stop® Benefits screenings and support participants with applications for eligible benefits, that may include LIHEAP, Head Start, Free Tax Filing, EITC and CTC.
• Facilitate ESOL ENGEN classroom session, including language immersion exercises and tracking progress.
• Lead engaging, high‑energy sessions that actively involve all participants and maintain strong participation.
• Assess participant engagement, performance, and readiness for work, WEP/CS, and STOT.
