Location: Los Alamos, NM (On-site)
Pay Rate: $75–$81/hr
Contract: 1-year contract with the possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time position
Clearance: DOE “Q” required
We are recruiting on behalf of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) for a Work Control Planner 4. In this role you will develop and review work packages — including time, material, and labor estimates, written step‑step work instructions, procedures, and safety and testing requirements — for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, and modification activities within an assigned facility or area.
Planning duties may involve mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiological equipment, policies, and procedures, and include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure. This is a senior‑level planning position covering unique and complex activities in unique and complex facilities.
You will receive minimal day‑to‑day functional and operational direction from your immediate supervisor, and may provide functional and operational direction to assigned maintenance, operations support, or clerical personnel. The role involves regular contact with maintenance and operations management, engineers, technicians, and other facility personnel.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post‑graduate coursework may be expected.
A DOE “Q” clearance is required for this position. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. A‑level access is not required for this position.
Duration: 1-year contract to start, with the possibility of extension.
Conversion: This position may convert to a full‑time position at the discretion of the hiring organization. Conversion is not guaranteed.
Location Type: On‑site in Los Alamos, NM. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
