Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Develop, prioritize, and manage work orders aligning with operational priorities and safety requirements.
  • Document and track work orders in the maintenance management system to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Lead hazard analyses and incorporate hazard controls into work plans; conduct field walkdowns to identify hazards.
  • Identify materials needed and manage bills of material in eBOMS for timely availability.
  • Maintain detailed CMMS status and participate in routine status meetings.
  • Obtain drawings, engineering change notices, and permits for work activities.
  • Develop detailed work package instructions and create simple/complex work instructions.
  • Conduct post-job reviews and input lessons learned into CMMS to improve planning.
  • Coordinate PFWR requests and assist in validating work requests.

Job description

Job Duties/Scope Of Work

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Work Control Planners to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and coordination of maintenance activities. This role involves developing and managing detailed work orders, ensuring that all tasks are prioritized and documented accurately within the maintenance management system. The planner must ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations by incorporating hazard controls into work plans.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with responsibilities, that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, prioritize, and manage work orders ensuring they align with operational priorities and safety requirements.
  • Ensure all work orders are accurately documented and tracked within the maintenance management system to facilitate efficient workflow and compliance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Lead hazard analyses teams using the Job Hazard Analysis Checklist, ensuring that hazard controls are identified and incorporated into work plans. Leading and coordinating field walkdowns to identify and evaluate potential work hazards.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements in maintenance planning and execution, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate planning meetings and coordinate field walk downs with exempt, non-exempt, and bargaining unit staff to ensure worker involvement and alignment with maintenance objectives.
  • Engage subject matter experts in the planning, review, and approval process to ensure comprehensive and accurate work plans.
  • Identify materials needed for work activities to include the generation and tracking of bills of material in eBOMS to ensure timely availability.
  • Maintain detailed status and tracking of work order development and material tracking in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to include participation in routine status meetings.
  • Obtain and review necessary drawings, engineering change notices, and permits required for work activities.
  • Develop detailed work package instructions using work control procedures and job control systems for corrective maintenance, modifications, and other activities.
  • Create both simple and complex work instructions.
  • Conduct post-job reviews (PJR) and input information into the CMMS to capture lessons learned and improve future planning.
  • Ensure work package changes are processed in accordance with procedures, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate schedule status and updates to the work management team, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Must be a team player with a positive outlook in a customer service-oriented organization, fostering collaboration and support to include frequent engagement with field crews to support work planning and development.
  • Prepare and submit Plant Force Work Review (PFWR) requests, where applicable, to include tracking and status updates of the PFWR requests through the determination process.
  • Assist in the validation of work requests.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the overall objectives of the planning team.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identification Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
  • BA/BS degree plus 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of work control processes with the ability to implement improvements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a keen customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior work planning experience/knowledge.
  • Maintenance or construction craft experience, or field work supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of operational, maintenance work activities, and corrective maintenance planning.
  • Working knowledge in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Job Control System (JCS).
  • Experience in Hanford or other government contracting environments.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, and or electrical work planning.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Grade 16: $90,150 - $113,550
  • Grade 17: $99,063 - $124,788
  • Grade 18: $109,013 - $137,538
