Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to cloud services. We work on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and seek talented individuals to help.

You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to uphold safety, security, and capacity standards, while fostering an inclusive culture that encourages innovation and ownership.

Position Details

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Logistics Specialists for our 12-month Work Based Learning Program (WBLP) in Northern Virginia, starting in 2025. Candidates will report to a site location.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift/move up to 40 pounds regularly; participate in group lifts for heavier items.
  • Work in a 24/7 environment, participate in responder rotation, provide after-hours support.
  • Work in cramped, elevated, noisy environments.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours daily.
  • Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, gangways safely.

Note: Candidates must have work authorization; Amazon cannot provide sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data entry and peer support.
  • Ensure billing accuracy for inventory supply chain.
  • Prepare and ship merchandise and materials.
  • Schedule deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain precise records of commodities.
Daily Activities

Manage inventory, inbound shipments, and demand to maintain stock levels. Collaborate with technicians, engineers, procurement, and vendors to fulfill parts quickly and accurately. Communicate effectively with vendors and adhere to safety standards, including working with powered equipment.

Team Environment

Work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks effectively, and react quickly. Shift work including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are necessary.

Qualifications
Basic:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
