Job summary

Cloquet Public School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute Word Based Learning Coordinator to support students with disabilities through the Northern Lights Special Education Cooperative (NLSEC). Qualifications

• Proficiency with special education due process and understanding of Secondary Transition programming and planning.
• Understanding of analyzing a business's unmet needs and creating a customized job description for a student.
• Ability to network with businesses and agencies to secure and maintain worksites for student placements.
• Highly organized and detailed to manage Training Agreements, Safety Plans, and Department of Labor regulations.
• Ability to collaborate with educational and community teams to plan effective programs.

Responsibilities

• Configure work schedules with IEP managers to fit student load and employer needs.
• Design and deliver the school-based career seminar course including career exploration, safety, and employee rights.
• Develop a process to accept students into the Work-Based Learning program.
• Recruit employers to participate in the Work-Based Learning program.
• Secure suitable worksites for students.
• Develop partnerships with employer partners and coordinate the Work-Based Learning advisory committee.
• Coordinate logistics, permissions and emergency contact information.
• Facilitate onboarding Vocational Rehabilitation Services when appropriate.
• Review worksite responsibilities with students and employers; conduct site visits.
