Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Jefferson, TX is seeking a Machine Operator I to run lumber-processing equipment used to produce wood reels for wire and cable packaging. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and safe operation on a non-temperature controlled production floor.

The position offers 2nd shift (3pm–11pm) with a $1.00 shift differential and starting pay of $22.78 per hour. OT may be available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of machine operating experience.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines for customer jobs with attention to detail.
• Make incremental process adjustments and monitor product quality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Support other departments as needed.
• Read manufacturing instructions and work with a team in a fast-paced environment.
