Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Machine Operator I in Jefferson, TX for the third shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) with some overtime. The role focuses on running lumber-processing equipment to produce wood reels used to package wire and cable, with careful attention to quality.

Reporting to the Site Lead, you will work with a team to adjust processes, monitor product quality, and maintain a safe, organized work area. Applicants should have at least one year of machine operating experience and be able to lift up to

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of machine operating experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours.
• Strong reading and interpretation of manufacturing instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in teams.
• Knowledge of 5S is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines for customer jobs with attention to quality.
• Make incremental process adjustments and monitor quality of products.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Report to supervisor and support Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Support team in a fast-paced environment.
