Job summary

The AMES Companies, Inc. is seeking a Woodmill Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift in McClure, PA. This role installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, structures, pipes and electrical systems.

You will perform start-up tasks, inspect equipment, and diagnose issues while following safety policies and PPE requirements. The position emphasizes reliability and professional communication with team members.

Qualifications

• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Lock-Out/Tag-Out certification.
• Pass and maintain current industrial forklift & man lift certifications.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily start-up operations.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to diagnose problems with supervision.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery; change saw blades, dowler knives, and chipper knives.
• Learn to install and repair electrical apparatus; transformers and wiring, and electrical and related components.
• Lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Repair and maintain physical structures of buildings; fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
• Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment.
• Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
• Work and communicate in a professional manner with all business associates.
• Must comply with all safety policies and procedures, including wearing PPE.
