Job summary

Idaho Forest Group is seeking an on-site R&D / Operations Intern to support BRINCK research and production. You will characterize materials, collect samples, assist testing and production runs, and help develop quality control procedures with engineers and operations staff.

This summer internship is for an upper-division student in forest products, wood science, renewable materials, or a related discipline.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Forest Products, Wood Science, Renewable Materials, or related field.
Junior or senior standing and available for a full-time summer internship.
Reside within commuting distance of Athol, ID during the internship.
Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Detail-oriented with strong measurement and record-keeping skills.
Willing to work hands-on with equipment and cleanup tasks.

Responsibilities

Collect, prepare, label, and measure samples for research and QC.
Perform moisture, density, particle size, and dimensional tests.
Record measurements in data sheets and spreadsheets.
Set up and monitor equipment during tests, trials, and production runs.
Draft test procedures and sampling plans as processes shift from R&D to operations.
Summarize data, create charts, and present findings briefly.
Plan and complete projects and present results at internship end.
Maintain inventories and organize test records and photos.
Maintain lab, pilot, and production areas; ensure safety and cleanliness.
