Gratz Pilates is seeking a Wood Sander to join our Philadelphia production team. You will sand wooden surfaces, prep for finishing, and assist in basic woodworking tasks such as cutting and assembling components.

The role emphasizes precision, safety, and consistent quality in a small-batch manufacturing setting. The position requires standing for extended periods, operating sanding machinery, and collaborating with a team to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with sanding equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to perform basic woodworking tasks with precision.
• Familiarity with sanding techniques and finishing products.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Sand wooden surfaces to achieve a smooth, even finish.
• Prepare surfaces for finishing by removing imperfections and ensuring coating adhesion.
• Operate and maintain sanding equipment and tools.
• Perform basic woodworking tasks: cutting, shaping, and assembling components.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products and address defects.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety protocols.
