Job summary

Target Corp in Minneapolis seeks an Associate Designer for Womens Swim to join the Design team on site at our Downtown Minneapolis HQ. You will support Owned Brand Product Design and Development, translating ideas into CAD and hand sketches, preparing specs, and collaborating with vendors to deliver on trend-driven swimwear.

With a four-year design degree and 1+ year experience, you will help research trends, materials, and construction details, while ensuring alignment with merchant objectives

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in design.
• Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
• Ability to stay aware of trends and fashion.
• Understanding of textiles, garment construction/fit, or materials.
• Experience assimilating product feedback.
• Ability to research and apply market/trend information.
• Ability to build strong partnerships to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of swimwear products for Target brands.
• Prepare product specs and develop trim, print, embellishment, and hardware packages.
• Translate ideas using CAD/hand sketches and create presentation boards.
• Collaborate with Technical Design to communicate fit and construction details.
• Work with merchants and vendors to ensure brand cohesion and price points.
