Job summary

Campbellsville University is seeking a motivated and qualified Assistant Coach for Women’s Wrestling to support the continued development and success of the university’s women’s wrestling program.

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including recruiting and athlete development, with responsibilities spanning strategy, evaluation, events, and day-to-day program operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• High-level wrestling background and/or coaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling technique, competition, athlete development, and freestyle/Greco-Roman knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and communicate with prospective student-athletes.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with Head Coach while taking initiative independently.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate university vehicles.
• Background checks and employment requirements will be completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with the overall recruiting strategy and execution for the women’s wrestling program.
• Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with prospective student-athletes, coaches, families, clubs, high schools, colleges, and wrestling programs.
• Assist with recruiting visits, tournaments, showcases, camps, campus visits, and other recruiting events.
• Maintain recruiting information, evaluations, communications, and follow-up with Head Coach.
• Assist with practices, competitions, training, and student-athlete development including technique and conditioning.
• Assist with team travel, transportation, scheduling, equipment, facilities, and day-to-day duties.
• Support student-athletes academically, personally, and athletically.
• Represent Campbellsville University and the women’s wrestling program professionally.
• Comply with university, conference, and governing-body rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
