Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking an assistant coach for women's lacrosse to support coaching, recruitment, and student-athlete development. You will mentor players academically and personally while assisting with practice planning, game prep, travel, and equipment budgeting.

The role emphasizes DEI, leadership development, and student wellbeing, with long hours and extensive travel typical for competitive college athletics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience playing and coaching at the collegiate level preferred.
• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders, both written and oral.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Coach the technical and tactical aspects of women's lacrosse in practices and competitions.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes within NCAA/league rules.
• Assist head coach with daily practice planning and competition prep.
• Assist with travel plans, equipment budgeting, and program administration.
• Mentor student-athletes academically and personally.
• Develop programming for student-athlete development including DEI and mental health.
• Perform other duties as needed by head coach or Athletics Director.
