Job description

If you are an accomplished maternal-child health leader ready to shape an integrated service line, this Women’s and Children’s Nurse Manager opportunity offers meaningful operational authority and direct influence over care for mothers, newborns, and children. A respected healthcare organization in Northwestern Oregon is seeking a visible, relationship-driven nurse leader who can advance clinical practice while engaging teams around shared standards for safety, service, and outcomes.

The hospital provides a collaborative practice environment where experienced leaders are trusted to make decisions, develop people, and improve performance. Support from nursing and executive leadership creates space for thoughtful onboarding, clinician autonomy, and sustainable career growth, while staffing stability and interdisciplinary partnership allow the incoming manager to focus on leadership rather than constant crisis management. The culture values accessibility, professional accountability, and practical collaboration across departments.

Women’s and Children’s Services encompasses the connected workflows of Labor and Delivery, obstetrics, postpartum and Mother Baby care, newborn nursery services, and pediatrics. The Women’s and Children’s Nurse Manager will bring maternal and child health leadership to daily operations, balancing patient flow, staffing support, regulatory readiness, and resource stewardship in a dynamic clinical setting. This role carries operational ownership and decision-making authority, with close physician collaboration and strong visibility among frontline teams. Success will include oversight of nursing operations, staff development and mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient safety and quality improvement, and sustained clinical excellence in women’s and children’s care.

Reporting to senior nursing leadership, the manager will receive executive support while serving as the central connector among physicians, nursing leaders, educators, and ancillary departments. Primary responsibilities include workforce planning, performance management, budget awareness, policy implementation, quality initiatives, and the consistent execution of evidence-based care standards. Beyond maintaining operations, this leader will have strategic influence across the maternal-child continuum, translating organizational priorities into measurable improvements while building leadership capability within the nursing team.

Northwestern Oregon offers an appealing balance of professional opportunity and everyday livability, with a mild climate, abundant green space, water recreation, cycling, hiking, and easy access to year-round outdoor activities. Distinctive dining, local food and wine, arts, and community events create variety without sacrificing a welcoming atmosphere. Families and professionals appreciate the region’s range of community, school, housing, and commute options, making it possible to choose a lifestyle that feels urban-connected, suburban, or more relaxed.

The selected Women’s and Children’s Nurse Manager will receive compensation within a competitive leadership range based on experience and credentials, accompanied by common executive healthcare benefits such as medical coverage, retirement programs, paid time off, continuing education support, and leadership development resources.
