Salary Range: $73.44–$115.94 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Requirements to Apply

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required or currently in progress
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (required upon hire)
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required upon hire)
  • NRP certification required for staff overseeing Labor & Delivery, NICU, Nursery, or Postpartum areas
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in Labor & Delivery or Maternal Child Health
  • Prior nursing leadership, charge, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Job Overview

The RN Nurse Manager – Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby Unit provides strategic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate care for mothers and newborns. This role manages daily operations, staffing, and clinical standards while supporting nursing excellence, regulatory compliance, and professional development.

The Nurse Manager leads with empathy and integrity, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perinatal or obstetric nursing, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to lead diverse teams in achieving outstanding clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 24-hour administrative and clinical leadership for Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, and related maternal units
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards governing maternal and neonatal care
  • Manage staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation for optimal efficiency and patient outcomes
  • Lead initiatives to enhance safety, quality metrics, and patient experience across the continuum of maternal care
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff through education, coaching, and performance management
  • Implement evidence-based practice models and quality improvement initiatives
