Qualifications

• RN licensure in the state of practice and BCLS certification must be obtained within two years unless stated otherwise by department leadership.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience; 1 year in a specialty/subspecialty.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides ostomy and wound care education for patients, families, staff, physicians and students.
• Coordinates care across disciplines to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Monitors, evaluates and documents patient care; suggests protocol updates as needed.
• Contributes to policy and protocol development related to ostomy and wound care management.
• Acts as a consultant to physicians, staff, patients and learners on ostomy and wound care best practices.
• Tracks outcomes to improve care quality along the patient care continuum.
