Job summary

Phoenix Contact USA seeks an Operations Specialist I to support Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), controls systems, and automated material handling within the Distribution Center in Harrisburg. You will coordinate system usage, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure accurate, safe, and efficient material flow.

The role partners with Logistics, IT, maintenance, vendors, and DC staff to test, document, and implement process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a related field or applicable work experience.
• 3+ years in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, or WMS/controls environments.
• Experience with WMS, controls, and automated material handling is preferred.
• Proficient with personal computers and business software; strong detail and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, prioritize work, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for WMS, controls, and automated handling systems.
• Support day-to-day WMS/controls operations for DC activities and assist across shifts.
• Ensure processes align with procedures, standards, and business requirements.
• Act as WMS key user; provide system support and user assistance.
• Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standards.
• Guide system utilization, workflow execution, and operational compliance.
• Escalate system issues and coordinate with internal teams and vendors.
• Assist with training, testing (including UAT), and technology implementations.
• Analyze data for performance trends and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with logistics, IT, maintenance, and vendors on enhancements.
