Qualifications

• Knowledge of processing and adjustment procedures and transaction codes.
• Knowledge of manual and automated office equipment.
• Knowledge of tax terminology, forms and documents utilized in withholding tax processing.
• Knowledge of Virgin Islands and Federal Tax laws and regulations.
• Ability to detect noncompliance with withholding tax laws.
• Ability to identify computational and legal errors in tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Captures wage information submitted by employers.
• Maintains wage information in the system.
• Operates systems that issue bills, add taxpayer accounts, process credits and adjustments.
• Communicates with taxpayers or representatives regarding account information.
• Provides assistance to taxpayers by telephone, correspondence or in person.
• Analyzes and resolves complex issues and cases.
• Performs calculations for tax liability, penalties and interest.
