Job summary

Kelly is hiring a Wiring Assembler in North Charleston, SC for 2nd shift (2:30PM–11PM). Pay is $23–$24 per hour. You'll assemble, wire, and test electrical switchboards and panels in accordance with engineering drawings, using hand and power tools while maintaining safety and quality standards.

This role requires 2+ years of experience with assemblies and wiring, ability to read schematics, and the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. Overtime opportunities and growth potential are available.

What’s a typical day as a Wiring Assembler? You’ll be:

  • Assembling, wiring, and testing electrical switchboards, control panels, and associated equipment according to engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Installing electrical components such as breakers, contactors, relays, transformers, terminal blocks, and bus systems.
  • Collecting parts and accessories, assembling fabricated parts to build unit assemblies (low voltage switchgears, switchboards, and power panels).
  • Using hand and power tools, wire strippers, pliers, and crimpers.
  • Performing continuity checks, point-to-point verification, and basic electrical testing.
  • Identifying and reporting discrepancies in drawings, materials, or workmanship.
  • Maintaining accurate production and quality records.
  • Adhering to safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, following 5S principles.
  • Securing component parts on assemblies and ensuring units meet specifications.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and rework activities as needed.
This Job Might Be An Outstanding Fit If You
  • Have 2+ years of experience building assemblies and sub-assemblies, and wiring of components.
  • Can speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Are able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical wiring methods, assembly techniques, and basic electrical components/circuits.
  • Are skilled with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Are physically able to stand, kneel, or stoop for extended periods; have proper mobility to work in high and low spaces; and can lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Have fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for precise wiring and assembly work.
