Job Summary
As a Wire Worker, you will assemble heater unit product codes and fabricate necessary components according to work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lay out diagrams for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
- Drill and tap holes for mounting control units.
- Attach breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
- Hydro test per specification.
- Paint products as necessary.
- Install and wire thermostats and other options.
- Fabricate bus bars and solder connections.
- Test and adjust electrical components.
- Discuss errors in diagrams or production orders with supervision or engineering to clarify assembly problems.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- One to three months of related experience and/or training.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Certified in ASME brazing procedures: BPS-B1, BPS-B2, BPS-B3, BPS-B4, BPS-B5.
- High school diploma or GED.
Travel & Working Environment
- Employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
