Job summary

SPX Technologies in the United States is seeking an Assembler for its Electric Heat division to assemble heater-unit product codes and fabricate components per work orders, blueprints, and engineering specs.

You will lay out diagrams, drill and tap, attach breakers and relays, perform hydro tests, paint, install thermostats, fabricate bussing, and test electronics, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out diagrams for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
  • Drill and tap holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
  • Attach breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
  • Perform hydro tests per specification.
  • Paint products as necessary.
  • Install and wire thermostats and other options.
  • Fabricate bussing and solder connections.
  • Test and adjust electrical components.
  • Discuss errors in diagrams or production orders with supervision or engineering to clarify assembly problems.

Job Summary

As an Assembler, you will assemble all heater‑unit product codes and fabricate necessary components per work order, blueprint, and engineering specification.

Job Responsibilities

Required Experience
  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Certified in the following ASME brazing procedures: BPS‑B1, BPS‑B2, BPS‑B3, BPS‑B4, BPS‑B5.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Travel & Working Environment
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
