Job summary

Radley James is partnering with a leading quantitative trading firm to hire a Wireless Network Engineer who will design, build, automate, and operate the ultra-fast network connecting financial markets.

You’ll merge software development with RF engineering and production network operations, finding faster routes while keeping links reliable and scalable across global sites.

Qualifications

• Strong Python, Linux, and Git experience; routing, multicast, Ethernet, and VLANs fundamentals.
• Hands-on RF knowledge: link budgets, spectrum analysis, interference, antenna systems.
• Experience with monitoring/telemetry tools and telecom licensing familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design and assess wireless paths, including LOS, signal strength, interference, antenna placement, and frequency planning.
• Commission and optimise links using licensed microwave, millimetre wave, free-space optics, and other wireless technologies.
• Build Python tools to monitor link performance, automate device control, and speed up fault diagnosis.
• Integrate radios, amplifiers, controllers, and power systems using SNMP, serial/TCP connections, and vendor APIs.
• Investigate live incidents, coordinate field repairs, and turn findings into better monitoring and network design.
• Work on the supporting infrastructure, including fibre connections, DWDM, exchange cross-connects, and precision timing.
• Coordinate new sites, vendors, and field crews, and plan changes to live networks.

What you’ll bring
