I am working with a leading prop trading firm looking for a Network Engineer to help design, support, and enhance their low‑latency trading infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on engineer who thrives on solving complex networking and security challenges, including multicast routing, latency tuning, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide critical thinking and troubleshooting for complex issues in a 24/7, mission‑critical network environment.
- Design, implement, and support network and security monitoring tools to detect anomalies, threats, and performance issues.
- Automate manual processes within the network infrastructure to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and occasional weekend maintenance work.
- Collaborate closely with traders, developers, and operations teams to ensure high availability and performance across all systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3 protocols, BGP, OSPF, multicast, QoS, and latency tuning.
- Familiarity with network security concepts, monitoring, and incident response.
- Exposure to automation and scripting (Python preferred).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills – able to clearly explain complex technical issues to non‑technical audiences.
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail‑oriented; capable of thriving independently and within a collaborative team environment.
