Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician II in St Paul, MN to install, program, troubleshoot, repair and maintain two-way radio and wireless communications systems. You will support customer communications infrastructure and work with RF equipment across UHF/VHF bands.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience, a valid license, and familiarity with radio programming and DAS/BDA systems. A company vehicle and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Background screening and drug screening must be passed.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, programming, and maintaining two-way radio or wireless systems.
• Strong knowledge of RF theory, RF propagation, and UHF/VHF 800/900 MHz systems.
• Experience programming radios and creating/editing radio codeplugs.
• Ability to read schematics and technical docs.
• Experience with Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex or similar equipment preferred.
• TCP/IP networking knowledge; DAS/BDA experience preferred.
• Certifications such as Motorola ETA, NICET, CET, OSHA are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wireless equipment including UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz radios, dispatch consoles and DAS/BDA systems.
• Program and manage radio codeplugs with multi-zone configurations.
• Service repeaters, antennas, duplexers, multicouplers, base stations and RF infra.
• Use spectrum analyzers, service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs and multimeters for diagnosis.
• Recommend hardware and solutions meeting customer needs and provide strong support.
