Job summary

Zoox seeks an Embedded Software Engineer for the Firmware team in Foster City, CA. You will own software integration, performance, and debugging of the Telematics Control Unit, interfacing cellular modems and embedded Linux across multiple hardware generations.

Responsibilities include defining interfaces between RF baseband and host systems, prototyping next-gen wireless platforms, and building telemetry/analytics for fleet data. Strong C/C++, Linux, and LTE/5G expertise are required.

Qualifications

10+ years in embedded Linux and cellular/wireless firmware.
Strong C/C++, Linux, Python/Shell scripting skills.
Deep knowledge of LTE/5G protocol stacks and 3GPP specs.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance the firmware and cellular wireless stack across hardware generations.
Integrate third-party cellular modems and proprietary stacks with our embedded Linux platform ( vendor collaboration ).
Define interfaces between RF baseband, protocol stack, and host system; write host-side glue code for Linux networking.
Prototype new wireless platforms for future Zoox products.
Build telemetry/analytics to collect and visualize fleet data; support QA feedback and issue root-cause.
