Job summary

Zoox is seeking an embedded software engineer to join the Firmware Body Systems team in Foster City, CA. You will develop real-time embedded software for body, thermal, lighting and door functions, and work with hardware and vehicle engineers to deliver production-quality code for complex systems.

You will document software requirements, design tests, and debug using hardware bring-up techniques while collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to enable a seamless rider experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience developing real-time embedded software for distributed electro-mechanical systems is required.
Strong C++/C programming experience and object oriented programming.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test embedded software for body, thermal, lighting, and door functions of the Zoox vehicle.
Create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation.
Work cross-functionally with vehicle engineers, controls engineers, electrical engineers, validation engineers, and other experts to ensure a seamless and highly-automated experience for the Zoox vehicle.
Integrate supplier sub-systems into the Zoox software stack.
