Production Associate - Wire Harness Assembly

JOB SUMMARY

Performs all tasks involved in the production of company products. Incumbent works on assemblies from simple to complex, with minimal supervision. The incumbent must have a good understanding of position duties and the technical aspects of the role. The incumbent can recommend process and/or equipment improvements.

Pay: $18-20/hr

Location: Leander

REQUIRED BASIC SKILLS
  • Ability to assemble, wire, and adjust precision units
  • Working with crimpers
  • Cutting and stripping wire
  • Read and write at High School level in the English language
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Even temperament in changing environments; results-driven personality
  • Works well with others in groups or teams
  • Creativity and latitude required for problem solving
  • Reads drawings and understands specifications
  • Familiarity with lap soldering and cup soldering (preferred but not required)
  • Basic experience with heat shrink, box and panel builds
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Actively participates in Safety Program
  • Adheres to all quality assurance procedures
  • Assists in meeting production requirements
  • Works overtime as required (sometimes with minimal/short notice)
  • Participates in process improvement activities
  • Follows instructions of Team Leader and/or Supervisor
  • Assembles materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished products from raw materials within specified timeframes
  • Responsible for production materials assigned
  • Maintains a clean work area
  • Performs special projects and assignments as required
  • Responsible for proper condition of assigned tools and work area
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as needed
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years of electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Basic knowledge of assembly hand tools
  • Basic knowledge of electrical assembly
  • Experience with PCBA soldering
  • Experience in new product builds and prototyping is a plus
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision
  • Capable of learning to read, understand, and correctly follow prints, drawings, and technical instructions
  • Experienced working in teams or natural work groups
WORKING CONDITIONS
