A leading electronics manufacturer is seeking a Wire Harness Assembly Technician in Lititz, PA. Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, strip, and label wire as indicated in work instructions.
  • Terminate wires using crimping, soldering, or lugging.
  • Populate wire connectors by mechanical hand placement or soldering.
  • Utilize guided assembly tools such as Cirris.
  • Conduct pull tests on wire assemblies.
  • Lay out and thread wire harness following diagrams.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Wire Harness Assembly Technician to support the assembly, testing, and inspection of wire harnesses and cable assemblies. This role requires hands-on experience with wire preparation, connector population, and harness layout while adhering to industry standards and quality requirements.

The Wire Harness Assembler prepares various type of wire for use in harness assemblies and creates wire harness for use in final assembly of product. Types of wire material include: CAT5, twisted pairs, triples, shielded wire, coax cable, standard wire, wire gauge 30-0, ribbon, and fiber optic.

Position Responsibilities
  • Cut, strip, and label wire as indicated in work instructions. Apply shrink sleeving to wires and apply labels
  • Terminate wires by placing pins through the use of manual or machine-assisted crimping, soldering, or lugging
  • Populate wire connectors by mechanical hand placement or soldering of pins
  • Utilize guided assembly tools and machines such as Cirris to assist in connector population
  • Operate machine to conduct pull test on wire assemblies and utilize hand tools to conduct push test on populated connectors
  • Lay out and thread wire harness from completed wire assemblies by following a harness board diagram
  • Bundle and tie cable after layout to create cable harness
  • Ensure proper wire lay and positioning of solder sleeves to lay properly in the harness
  • Obtain and maintain IPC 620 & 610 certification and JSTD 001 most current revision
  • Utilize databases to look up information and complete data input such as SEQUENCE and IFS
  • Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization

Qualifications

Work Environment
  • Production environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
