Job summary

Trion Industries, Inc. is seeking a Wire Forming Set-Up Mechanic for the 2nd shift at our Wilkes-Barre, PA facility.

You will set up, adjust, and maintain automated wire forming machines to meet production specs and quality standards. You will read blueprints, select tooling, run tests, document setups, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with production and quality teams while following safety protocols, including lockout/tagout.

Qualifications

• Strong maintenance skills, including equipment maintenance and general Maintenance & Repair.
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs and routine service of production machinery.
• Background working with Heavy Equipment or complex automated manufacturing equipment.
• Proficient Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
• Previous experience as a set-up mechanic, machine operator, or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and machine manuals.
• Solid understanding of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout and PPE use.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or machining is a plus.
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work with hand tools and power tools for extended periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team on 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and maintain automated wire forming machines and related equipment to meet production specifications and quality standards.
• Interpret work orders and blueprints, select and install tooling, perform test runs, and make precise mechanical adjustments.
• Monitor equipment during production, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams; follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Document set-ups and maintenance activities; support continuous improvement in machine performance and production efficiency.

Role Description

The Wire Forming Set-Up Mechanic for 2nd Shift is a full-time, on-site role located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining automated wire forming machines and related equipment to meet production specifications and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting work orders and blueprints, selecting and installing tooling, performing test runs, and making precise mechanical adjustments for optimal performance. The mechanic monitors equipment during production, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and performs routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs to minimize downtime. The role also involves collaborating with production and quality teams, following safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols, documenting set-ups and maintenance activities, and supporting continuous improvement in machine performance and production efficiency.
