Job summary

Metal Technologies is seeking a highly skilled electrically focused maintenance technician for our 2nd shift in Ravenna, MI. The role involves maintaining electrical and mechanical systems across the foundry, troubleshooting complex electronics, and performing a range of preventive maintenance tasks to keep production moving.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing, familiarity with PLCs, relay logic, and a variety of shop tools.

Qualifications

  • Five years electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, program, build & rebuild advanced electronic circuitry.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair foundry related electrical and electronic systems (relay logic, PLC, computer, microprocessor).
  • Perform hydraulic, plumbing, pneumatic, and metal fabricating maintenance tasks.
  • Operate and maintain shop tools and machines, read electrical/mechanical schematics and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret manuals; operate forklifts and lifts; work safely in confined spaces.

Pay up to $37.53 per hour

2nd shift 2:00pm-10:00pm

Essential Functions
  • Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Design, install, program, build & rebuild advanced electronic circuitry.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair foundry related electrical and electronic systems (i.e. relay logic, PLC, Computer, & Microprocessor) and equipment.
  • In addition to electrical maintenance duties, will be required to perform the following mechanical maintenance duties:
    • Perform hydraulic maintenance (pumps, valves, controls and cylinders).
    • Perform plumbing maintenance (piping, fitting and assembly).
    • Perform pneumatic maintenance (cylinders, valves and controls).
    • Perform metal fabricating (cutting, fitting, bolting, welding and assembly).
    • Perform welding (oxygen, acetylene, arc welding, brazing, hard surfacing and silver soldering).
    • Perform equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repairs (wheelabrators, grinders, mixer, elevators, conveyors, belts, oscillating conveyors, shakeout, air compressors, molding machines, electrical equipment, robots, furnaces, scale systems, etc.).
  • Use various tools (e.g. come-along, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, sanders, drills, pliers, ratchets, clamps, pry bars, pneumatic/electrical tools, etc.).
  • Use of machines, drill presses, grinders, band saws, hack saws and other tools related to maintenance.
  • Read, comprehend, and understand both electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, blueprint reading, and manuals.
  • Operate a forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift.
  • Perform work in confined spaces following the requirements of the Company’s Confined Space Program.
  • Ability to work at elevated levels (ladders, scaffolds, scissor lift, boom lift, etc.).
