Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Location: Norcross, GA
Pay: $24.00/hour and up, based on relevant experience, recent training, and skill set
Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Shift: 2nd Shift
Overtime may be required based on production demands, equipment breakdowns, scheduled maintenance, and other operational needs. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.
Our client is a well-established company in the metals processing and industrial manufacturing industry, providing metal products and services to customers across a variety of markets. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join a safety-focused production environment and play a key role in keeping plant equipment and operations running efficiently.
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the plant and facility. This position will work with a variety of industrial processing and material-handling equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and overhead crane systems.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, able to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly, and comfortable working in a fast-paced metal processing/manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plant equipment, including metal processing equipment, material-handling equipment, overhead cranes, and facility systems.
- Respond quickly to unscheduled equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and ensure maintenance tasks are completed according to established programs.
- Troubleshoot and work with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and - PLC-controlled equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment and follow applicable safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Assist with training and guidance for equipment operators on routine maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and maintenance service providers when needed.
- Identify and order replacement parts and supplies necessary to maintain equipment in a safe and efficient operating condition.
- Use computerized maintenance systems and preventive maintenance programs to document and track maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, metal processing, steel processing, or similar production environment.
- Working knowledge of:PLCs and electrical systems, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics/air systems, industrial machinery, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safe equipment operation.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to changing production and maintenance needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial/metal processing environment.
- Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, including meeting applicable vision, hearing, mobility, and physical requirements.
