Job summary

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) in Fullerton, CA is seeking a CNC OPERATOR IV - Wire EDM Operator on the 2nd shift to operate and set up multiple Wire EDM machines. You will read blueprints, measure parts for tolerance, and ensure compliance with drawings while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires 3+ years of Wire EDM experience, ability to work on multiple machines, and knowledge of Mastercam programming; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Operate and set up Agie wire EDM machines or equivalent.
• Interpret instructions in blueprints or sketches.
• Meet precise tolerances of +/- .0005.
• Material knowledge of tool steels and carbide.
• Maintain part identification and records.
• Operate more than one machine at a time.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Mastercam Wire EDM programming a plus.
• Minimum 3 years experience with Wire EDM in fastener manufacturing.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and operate multiple Wire EDM machines.
• Independently set up multiple tools in fixtures.
• Maintain machines and perform routine maintenance.
• Read prints and use precision measuring instruments to check parts.
• Verify conformance to drawings after setup and run checks.
• Follow all safety procedures including Lock/Tag/Verify.
• Train future Operators as needed.
• Handle parts weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Perform other tasks as required.
