Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join the Discrete Products Group (DPG) in Lawrence, MA.

You will contribute to the production of high-quality electronic components through wire bonding, inspection, testing, and process support in a cleanroom environment. The role requires hands-on experience with automatic and manual wire bonding, the ability to read technical drawings, and strong dexterity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electronics-related certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in wire bonding or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with automated and manual wire bonding equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and process specs.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual wire bonding tasks using microscopes and bonding tools.
• Inspect and test wire bonds for quality and spec compliance.
• Set up wire bond equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain production data records and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and safety guidelines.
• Assist in training new technicians and staff.
• Perform other tasks and projects as needed.
