Job summary

The WIOA Operations Manager at Halifax Community College coordinates with the NCWorks Career Center Manager to supervise daily operations, customer engagement, staff coverage, and program coordination.

This role ensures WIOA services are delivered accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and HCC requirements, providing supervision of Career Advisors and direct support to job seekers with employment services, referrals, training opportunities, and follow-up support.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a relevant discipline; at least 3 years of experience with workforce development programs.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; at least 3 years of experience with workforce development programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist job seekers with employment services, referrals, labor market information, and training resources.
• Provide professional, respectful service to job seekers, employers, and partners.
• Coordinate day-to-day delivery of WIOA services through the Halifax/Northampton NCWorks Career Center.
• Ensure services are delivered timely, accurate, and customer-focused.
• Supervise Career Advisors and support documentation and data entry accuracy.
• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and guidance to Career Advisors.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure compliance with WIOA requirements.
• Ensure customers are properly registered and information is maintained accurately.
• Review eligibility determinations and referrals across programs.
• Maintain complete case documentation and follow-up notes.
• Review documentation for confidentiality, completeness, and compliance; provide corrective guidance.
• Follow state/local guidelines for documenting Adults and Dislocated Workers.
• Schedule follow-up visits and collect information to assist customers.
• Manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
• Understand data entry and eligibility criteria for funding streams.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to motivate job seekers and maintain satisfaction.
• Maintain confidentiality of program information and communicate professionally with stakeholders.
• Oversee customer satisfaction surveys and system registrations.
• Ensure accuracy of information in the system.
• Document services and outcomes for customers.
• Match job seekers to job orders accurately.
• Monitor employer satisfaction surveys.
• Track job placements and training outcomes.
