Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions seeks a program support specialist to assist customers with enrollment in federally funded workforce services. You will work within a cross-functional team to apply labor market information and coordinate with Adult Education/Literacy partners and local employers.

You will interview clients to assess needs, determine eligibility, collect documentation, and document decisions in real time. The role requires accuracy, reliability, and knowledge of local workforce programs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or comparable years of related case management and job matching experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated customer service skills are essential.
• Familiarity with workforce programs (SNAP, TANF, WIOA, NCP, RESEA, TAA, SEAL) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with enrollment in Career Office federally funded services.
• Demonstrate knowledge of services, labor market information, and multi-program services within a cross-functional team.
• Coordinate outreach with Adult Education/Literacy partners, school districts, community-based organizations, and employers.
• Interview customers to assess training needs, education, experience, skills, and career development opportunities for eligibility of benefits.
• Determine eligibility per local, state, and federal policies to ensure proper funding utilization.
• Collect and verify documentation and perform data entry as required.
• Provide alternative resources to ineligible individuals.
• Document counselor notes regarding eligibility status for WIOA youth program considerations.
• Ensure notes contain factual information and professional decisions.
• Assist individuals in determining additional information needed for eligibility.Document that participants meet criteria and maintain accurate files.
• Adhere to updated TWC guidelines and complete Work in Texas and Wagner-Peyser requirements prior to enrollment.
• Verify funding streams and co-enroll where appropriate.
