Job summary

Fluvanna County Public Schools in Palmyra, Virginia, seeks an Assistant Athletic Coach for Winter Track 2026-27. This is a part-time, non-benefited stipend position reporting to the Head Coach, Athletic Director and Principal.

You will assist with practices, supervise athletes, ensure compliance with VHSL rules, coordinate with staff, and help maintain equipment and facilities. A valid Virginia driver's license and prior coaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License.
• Successful coaching experience in assigned sport preferred.
• Substantial knowledge of the sport's technical aspects; continue to study new theories and procedures.
• Valid Virginia Teaching License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with scheduled events and practices and coordinate with facilities.
• Maintain discipline and morale within the program.
• Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices and games.
• Prepare documentation for state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility.
• Plan conditioning and weight programs for in-season and out-of-season periods.
• Attend staff meetings and assist with scouting and budget planning.
• Issue press releases and announcements as needed.
• Maintain equipment inventory and secure facilities.
