Job summary

Fluvanna County Public Schools Athletics/Activities Department – Palmyra, Virginia seeks a Head Athletic Coach for Boys Tennis. The position is a part-time stipend role, supervising coaches and athletes under the Athletic Director and school leadership.

The coach will lead skill development, organize schedules, manage equipment and budgets, ensure health exams and insurance, enforce codes, and communicate with parents and players before and during the season.

Qualifications

• Virginia teaching license preferred.
• GED or high school diploma required.
• Valid Virginia driver's license required.
• Coaching experience in the sport is preferred.
• Knowledge of the sport's technical aspects & ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Send information to players and parents and conduct orientation programs.
• Assume responsibility for schedule development or validation.
• Develop procedures for open communication with parents and athletes.
• Maintain team budget and equipment management.
• Ensure health exams and medical insurance for athletes.
• Enforce school athletic code and collect participation fees.
• Meet with parents before the season and coordinate with the Athletic Director.

Education

Valid Virginia Teaching License preferred

GED or high school diploma

Valid Virginia Driver's License

Successful coaching experience in assigned sport is preferred

Substantial knowledge of the sport's technical aspects
