Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in performing manual labor in general construction or maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor tasks to assist skilled tradesmen such as carpenters, plumbers, and masons.
• Installs and maintains drainage, sewer, and water conduits; positions, joins, and seals pipe sections and culverts.
• Digs trenches, refills excavations, levels dirt, gravel, and other materials.
• Sets and repairs curbing and patches pavement using paving materials and hand tools.
• Installs signs by digging holes and installing supports with hand tools.
• Plants and maintains trees, shrubs, and lawns; performs mulching, fertilizing, and spraying as required.
• Loads and unloads supplies; inventories materials in stockrooms.
• Operates hand-held power tools and small machinery; drives light vehicles as needed.
