Job summary

TalentAlly offers a Plant Internship program providing exposure to power plant operations and practical application of engineering theories for students in relevant majors.

Interns will gain hands-on experience across multiple functional teams, learning to monitor equipment, perform rounds, and support safety and environmental compliance while developing skills for careers in power generation. Priority referrals considerations apply for eligible veterans and disabled candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
• Currently enrolled in a BS engineering program (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Environmental, or Facilities) (accredited).
• Maritime students highly encouraged to apply. Prior experience in power generation facilities is desired.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate plant equipment to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.
• Take rounds to check plant conditions and record data on log sheets.
• Operate Ash Handling System safely and efficiently.
• Test and treat boiler, cooling and other plant water systems.
• Lift moderate to heavy material as required.
• Manage demineralization system adjustments safely and accurately.
• Assist with health, safety and environmental compliance programs and outcomes.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical equipment across the facility safely.
• Assist in electrical, calibration, maintenance and repair procedures.
• Learn how Wheelabrator Technologies Waste-to-Energy Power Plants are operated and budgeted.
