Job summary

The City of Lakeland invites applications for a SkillBridge Power Plant Engineering Intern. The role supports turbine generators and auxiliary plant equipment at McIntosh, Larsen Memorial, and Winston Power Plants, under supervision of senior engineers.

Interns will engage in real engineering projects, with assignments possibly including chemical or control system engineering exposure to broaden technical skill sets for safe, reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• Degree requirements as listed (BS or MS in engineering).

Responsibilities

• Prepare scope of work for projects or studies with data gathering, specifications, plans, diagrams, and cost estimates.
• Oversee or assist in design/study of engineering projects.
• Provide project management and quality control functions for project work.
• Assist various departments in energy production and plant operations.
• Support coordination with Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and contractors.
