Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, seeks a Seasonal Laborer II at Great Brook Farm State Park for the 2026-2027 winter season. The role covers park maintenance and general grounds work, with a start date of 11/15/26 and an end date of 3/20/27, totaling 18 weeks.

Shift runs Sunday–Monday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Schedules and days off are at the Supervisor’s discretion and may include weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum Entrance Requirements: at least six months of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in manual labor related to general construction or maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor tasks to assist skilled tradesmen.
• Works on drainage, sewer and water conduit installation tasks.
• Digs trenches and grades dirt and gravel.
• Patches roads and curbs using paving materials.
• Installs and maintains signs using hand tools.
• Plants and maintains trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens.
• Loads/unloads supplies and inventories equipment.
• Operates small power tools and light vehicles.
• Performs related duties as required.
