Job summary

State of Wyoming's Wyoming State Parks is seeking a Seasonal Interpreter/Maintenance Worker for Sink Canyon State Park, near Lander. You will provide excellent customer service, greet visitors, and deliver interpretive programs, hikes, cave tours, and hands-on activities.

Work is outdoors in all weather, up to 24 hours per week through spring 2027. Housing is not provided; valid driver's license and being at least 18 are required. Join a team passionate about the outdoors and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to staff and park guests.
• Greet guests, answer visitor questions, and provide pertinent information about the site and surrounding area.
• Engage with visitors through interpretive techniques to provide education and site orientation.
• Develop and present interpretive programs, guided hikes, cave tours, and hands-on activities to guests of all ages.
• Assist with the development of non-personal interpretive content including social media and interpretive graphics.
• Assist with the development and implementation of special events.
• Staff the visitor center as needed.
• Provide janitorial services in the visitor center and campgrounds.
• Assist with special projects and events as needed.
• Assist with general administrative duties, reports, and data entry.
• May be required to assist with the feeding and care of live exhibit animals, including reptiles and small mammals.
• May be required to assist in the Visitor Center by answering questions and operating the computer/register for reservations and sales.
