Job summary

ARIZONA STATE PARKS AND TRAILS is seeking a Park Ranger Senior to lead maintenance and support park operations at Lyman Lake State Park in St. Johns, AZ.

Under minimal supervision, you will oversee guest services, interpret natural and historic features, enforce park rules, and help train staff and volunteers. You will manage cashier duties, assist with safety protocols, and coordinate maintenance tasks like trail upkeep and basic repairs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of park rules, revenue functions, and interpretation.
• Strong public relations, service orientation, and de-escalation.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs.
• Experience training staff and supervising volunteers.
• Two years as Park Ranger Assistant or 3 years in park maintenance or customer service.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Host visitors and lead guided walks or hikes.
• Provide park information and assist staff and volunteers.
• Perform cashier duties and manage admissions and store sales.
• Enforce park rules and ensure public safety.
• Oversee maintenance tasks and supervise inmate crews.
• Maintain social media updates and interpretive videos.
