Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, PA is seeking a Winter Adventure Camp Coach (Snow Instructor) for a part-time, outdoor coaching role. You will plan weekly lessons, manage groups, and engage with families during sessions.

Certification in PSIA/AASI is preferred; experience with children is valued. The position supports a current 8-week program with weekend sessions, and benefits include access to a free season pass and resort activities.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work outside in any conditions.
• At least one year of teaching skiing or snowboarding AND/OR strong prior experience with children.
• Age requirement - 16 years old.
• A coach is only required to choose one session but can coach more than one.
• A coach must be available for all the days of that session to be scheduled.
• Full shift required for each instructor in the Learning Center; weekend shifts may start at 8am or 9:45am.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute weekly lesson progression with assigned group.
• Assist with check-in, pick-up, and camper sorting process.
• Interact positively with parents at the start and end of each session.
• Help students progress week to week in their skills and mountain ability.
• Train and prepare for coaching role with the training team pre-season and continue personal improvement.
• Attend pre-program and debrief meetings weekly.
• Assist head coaches in ensuring accurate rosters using coordinators for group changes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking outgoing, energetic individuals who are passionate about sharing their love for adventure sports with our guests.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE POSITION

• Safety minded & commitment to safe practices.
• Exceptional ability to provide outstanding guest service & hospitality.
• Group management skills (during sessions but also week to week).
• Experience teaching skiing or snowboarding – scheduling preference is given to those with a PSIA / AASI Certification.
• Ability & willingness to create lesson plans (with help from support staff).
• A positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented mindset.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

REQUIREMENTS

• At least one year of teaching skiing or snowboarding AND / OR strong prior experience working with children.
• Age requirement - 16 years old
• A coach is only required to choose one session but can coach more than one.
• A coach must be available for all the days of that session in order to be scheduled.
• A full shift is required of each instructor in the Learning Center, no matter the lesson type. Weekend WAC shifts start at 8am or 9:45am.
• When needed, you may be asked to help with teaching other lesson offerings in the Learning Center before or after your WAC session
• 8 Week Program
• Saturday Sessions 8:30am - 11:30am & 1pm-4pm from January 9 th to February 27 th
• Sunday Sessions 8:30am - 11:30am & 1pm-4pm from January 10 th to February 28 th
