Job summary

Overview

To select, requisition, sell and promote wines in the wine department.

Responsibilities

• 1. Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• 2. Works with wine reps to determine optimum selection/offering for a particular stores clientele.
• 3. Discusses wines with guests to help them determine the best wine selection for their event.
• 4. Trains other wine demonstrators/stewards.
• 5. Recommends wine to accompany food (e.g. cheese, crackers, etc.).
• 6. Stocks shelves, counters or tables with merchandise.
• 7. Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
• 8. Obtain merchandise requested by guest.
• 9. Answers guest’s questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise.
• 10. Clean shelves, counters and table.
• 11. Keeps record of sales, prepares inventory of stock.
• 12. Ensures that proper signage and shelf talkers are in place.
• 13. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• 14. Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
